Do you think Transport will be a big issue in Copenhagen?

Today transport is responsible for 23% of all CO2 emisisons. It is also a huge contributor to NOx and black carbon emissions. And transport’s share will likely rise over time. Thus for any global climate regime to be successful, transport will need to be integrated. In Copenhagen the world will hopefully agree on broad targets and target reductions. To achieve this, support programs will need to be developed. For transport, there will likely need to be a combination of international agreements and national, sector-based approaches. It is crucial that fuel efficency play a role in this and this initiative will seek to identify ways to achieve this.
