What is your position on fuel taxes – do you support them or not?

There are a wide range of options out there for addressing the impact of transport on the environment and climate in particular. We are talking about a global approach, and some of those approaches will work better in some settings than they do in others. There is undoubtedly a role for taxation in shaping mobility decisions, but there is as well for labeling, for training, for fuel economy standards, vehicle tax and rebate systems, and so on, and fuel taxation it is by no means the only option available to us
